The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini. How will it fair against the Smartphone Heavy Weights?

 

At just 83 x 50 x 16mm the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is almost half the size of its big brother the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. It is a neat fit into your palm, very light and awfully cute. Using the phone is much like playing with a puppy, very difficult to put down. The X10 Mini runs on the Android 1.6 and has a bright and responsive 2.55 inch QVGA screen with capacitive touch technology.

The phones appearance is very similar to that of the Xperia, its face is modern and reflective and the bodywork on the back is soft to the touch and sturdy. There is an alternative to the X10 Mini, the X10 Mini pro, this model is ever so slightly bigger at 90 x 52 x 17mm, though its extra mass helps to conceal the QWERTY keyboard. Although keyboards on are considered a bit outdated on Smartphone's, the Mini pro functions quite well, and certainly benefits from having it.

Much like the Xperia the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini supports Timescape which allows for all texts, calls and Facebook updates to be shown in one place and gives you the ability to link the online profiles of your friends to there contact details in your phonebook. Timescape on the Mini can be difficult and does look a little jumbled on the 2.55 inch screen but it is still useful and rather easy to get used to. With the X10 Mini running cleanly on the Android 1.6 it is capable of hopping from one screen to another in almost no time at all, combine this with its receptive touch screen it allows for a quick and very sharp performance when tasking.

The camera options on the X10 Mini is somewhat simple compared to the Xperia X10. It is a 5 mega pixel camera, you can toggle the flash on and off, alter the mode in which you shoot and also access the gallery, but that is where your options end. Videos can be captured at 30 frames per second in 640 x 480 pixel resolutions. Despite its simplicity of the phones camera it runs efficiently and smoothly enough and can't really be knocked considering the X10 Mini is a mini handset.

 

The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini impresses when it comes to the web browser, though the small display isn't really ideal for viewing web pages. There are very short loading spaces between pages; this is due to the phones powerful 3G and Wi Fi connections. Sadly there is no touch zoom in the browser, but the zoom buttons and page overview work well enough not to hinder your browsing experience. Other features that may appeal to you include its Google and YouTube integrations. The device has a fine media player installed with a 2GB micro SD card incorporated into the package; this can be upgraded to 16GB if needed.

To summarise, the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is a worthy relation to the Xperia X10. Typically of all Android phones it is a smooth runner in all of its functions, this is regardless of its size. It is a capable browser and has responsive capacitive touch technology for navigation. The X10 Mini is perfect for both hand and pocket and adorable in appearance, it is available in an array of colours too. The only problem I see with this device is that it will be easy to misplace as it is so small.

First off, what's the difference between carbon fiber and carbon kevlar?

And finally, where can I buy carbon fiber (or carbon kevlar) bodywork and fairings for my bike? I know you can buy small stuff like front fenders on any websight, but I want the whole body/fairing. I need it to be for the street and have the headlight also. Thanks for your time!
